ABOUT :
I am an energetic, sociable and down to earth all-round Creative, Art Director and Video Editor and is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
I have over 9 years experience in the advertising industry, of which most was spent working as a digital-first creative, coming up with and creating social content for brands in both paid, and earned media.
Being the creative and visual custodian on projects is something I relish and taking ownership of a project from start to finish is something I take great pride in.
I love directing visuals, from static assets in design and photography – to film with lots of on-set experience, edits and animation.
I really enjoy thinking on my feet and come up with solutions to client’s asks, building a connection between brands and their audience.
WORK HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE :
I specialised in creating online and social content for Ogilvy Cape Town, where I worked on a variety of brands for 2 years and where I also won my first award in advertising. Here I did it all, from being the lead social creative on one of South Africa’s biggest beer brands, creating social and online content for all brands in the agency, to conceptualising to a number of campaigns.
I moved to the Netherlands and worked as an Art Director, Free-Roam creative and Editor for TBWA\Neboko for almost 3 years. There, I won more awards for the campaigns I worked on and really started to come into my own as a creative who is conceptually and strategically led, and driven by his visual convictions. I worked first as an Art Director with a copywriter on many campaign briefs before working on my own as a free-roam creative. My free-roam creative role was made specifically for me, and I am thankful that the creative leadership trusted me with so much and for giving me full responsibility to really "art" direct projects on my own for top brands. I was also an editor for TBWA during this period, contributing to winning brand pitches through concept, as well as editing and developing pitch mood films that helped sell the ideas through telling a story.
At the beginning of 2020 I joined Ogilvy Social Lab, Amsterdam as Senior Art Director in the Philips RTMC (Real Time Marketing Center) team. We specialise in creating online content for Philips across their multiple brand-categories. This includes social posts, films, online banners, etc – always working in paid media. My role includes strategizing and conceptualizing how to best solve briefs or ideas, while executing a lot of the work myself.
I joined Media.Monks in August of 2021 as a Senior Creative where I became part of the Amsterdam creative team, lead by Jeroen van der Meer. I had the privilege of working on some great projects for top brands such as Nike, Wallbox, Lipton, Converse, and Miele.
As Senior Creative my role entails everything from campaign concepting, to script writing, to film editing - to managing multiple creative workstreams and teams daily from all over the world thanks to the company' s magnificent global internal collaboration.
From creating McDonald's “Good Times Island” to developing various title animations for adidas… from working as an Art Director in a team to working as a solo creative who can take on a project from start to finish – I feel like I have a wide-ranging spectrum of skills for any modern agency’s needs.
